FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Where are you located?
I am located in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania, just north of Philadelphia.
Do you have a studio?
I do not have a studio. All of my sessions are held on location in Philadelphia and the surrounding areas.
What type of photography do you do?
I do custom, lifestyle photography for newborns, infants, children, families, couples, expectant parents and pets. Environmental headshots and small, special event photography, such as birthday, engagement, anniversary parties, etc. may be available upon special request.
When do you typically schedule sessions?
In order to offer all of my clients the time and attention their investment deserves, I am only available for a limited number of sessions each month. Most sessions are held on Saturdays, Sundays or Mondays, but occasionally, I can work a day or evening session in during the week on special occasion.
When is the best time of day for a session?
The best time for a session depends on a number of factors such as location, time of year, weather and the type of session you are interested in. Overall, the best time of the day to begin is 2-2.5 hours before sunset or 1-2 hours after sunrise. This will usually produce the best lighting for an outdoor location. However, I understand that a lot parents prefer to do their sessions earlier in the day or right after naptime to catch their children when they are bright-eyed and bushy-tailed. We can definitely workaround any time frame that suits your specific needs.
Can we do some photos in my home and some in another location?
Absolutely! As long as the outdoor location is within a reasonable distance from your home, this is no problem at all.
What if we need to reschedule a session?
Life happens. Sometimes the weather doesn’t cooperate or little ones get sick. Please do not forge ahead with the session if your child is ill. He will not be happy and every time you see the photos you will only remember how sick he was that day. Instead we will work together to reschedule at a date that works for both of us. If there is inclement weather the day of the shoot, I will contact you the day before or morning of to talk about either moving the session indoors or rescheduling. Overcast weather will not be rescheduled, as that actually produces some of the best lighting for photography.
Can we do a clothing change during a session?
Of course! I encourage it, especially for babies or kids. We can discuss ideas for clothing before the session if you would like more help.
I know you photograph a lot of kids, but I’m warning you, my children will not sit still or look at the camera. Do you think you can still get good photos of them?
I have been taking photos of children for over 18 years and have seen it all. Trust me, your kids are perfectly normal. We’ll get good shots of them. They may not all be looking at the camera or sitting and smiling perfectly, (who's kid does that?) but they will be beautiful because they will capture your child’s personality as it truly is. The opportunity to document a unique personality in an artful way is one of the best perks of my job!
Can you help me create a gallery layout for wall art in my home?
Absolutely! If you have a wall in your home that you would like to fill with photography from your session, but don’t know where to start, I would be happy to work with you to create a custom gallery design with your wall measurements and photographs.
How long will it take to see my photos?
A few days after the session, I will post a sneak peek of 1-3 images on Facebook and in a blog post. After that, all final, edited images (30-40 images) will be provided in a private, password-protected gallery for viewing, sharing and ordering 1-2 weeks after your session. For more information, please visit our what to expect page.
Do you offer the purchase of digital images?
Yes. Digital images are available for purchase through one of 4 digital collections. For more information, visit our collections + products page.
How long will it take to get my prints once I place my order?
Please allow 2-3 weeks after placing your final order on all prints and wall art. For custom designed fine art albums, please allow 3-4 weeks.
